For Newcomers
Join us! People who are new to meditation, or who have meditated in other traditions, are most welcome. We offer meditation both online and in-person. Find the details about our weekly practice here.
We also offer day-long retreats and events. Updates appear on our home page, and if you sign up for our email announcements you will get the latest information.
What to Expect
For our meditation practice we sit two rounds of silent Zazen meditation, 25 minutes each, with walking meditation in between. The meditation is followed by a different program depending on the event and format. If you are new, the practice and procedures will be explained. Don't worry about "getting it right," just go along with what others are doing.
In-person meetings are held at the Crimson Gate Meditation Community
Where: 3824 Grand Avenue, Oakland. Here is a map.
Parking: There is metered parking on Grand, and also parking available on side streets.
When: Tim and dates vary, see the home page or join the mailing list.
Information for Zoom meetings can be found here. We offer the option to join us via Zoom for most sittings and events.
